Not a pretty sight is it?

Many of you guys have been following me along my skin journey, skin care routines, procedures, and everything in between. My most recent share has been extraction facials and dermaplaning with Medical Aesthetics in Kelowna. I have been getting extraction facials for quite a few months now, and it is the only way to get rid of that tough acne WITHOUT the scarring. I am/used to be a picker, and after seeing Suzette at KMA, I have A) stopped picking because of how much she has educated me, and B) I don't need to pick because I have her extract everything without the nasty after scars of 'picking'.

What is it?

As I mentioned, I see Suzette at Kelowna Medical Aesthetics. She has been with me throughout my entire skin care journey over the last couple years is, and is one of the most brilliant skin care ladies I know. The process is about 70 minutes, and it's a professional treatment for acne prone skin, dehydration, pigmentation, ingrown hairs and blackheads! She exfoliates your skin, uses hot cloths, steams, and then extracts! She uses a tiny pin and an 'extractor' tool to get rid of those stubborn pimples. As well as educates you on how to do it at home to prevent scarring! The extractions don’t hurt, some can be uncomfortable, but you’re not in any pain and don’t need numbing. After the extraction she tones your skin and puts on a soothing face mask for the remainder of your appointment! My favourite part is while the face mask is on, she gives you an amazing, hot lotion hand and arm massage. It is SO relaxing. Then to finish it off she does a complimentary LED Light Therapy session based on your skin.

Okay now let's get down to the good stuff

Post Facial

As you can see, I am quite red. All of those spots are whiteheads, cystic acne and blackheads she has extracted. Some people don't get this red after a treatment, however, my skin gets extremely irritated quite easily, so I generally do these facials towards the end of my day. It isn't recommended to put makeup on right after the facials, as you want to let all of the product absorb into your skin! My skin looks worse right now, because it is obviously very inflamed from extracting all that 'guck' However, you won't necessarily be this red, or you may be even more red, depending on your skin type.

Next day (Day 2)

By the following day my skin is still generally still a bit inflamed. I have had some people reach out and tell me their skin was better immediately following the appointment, but as I mentioned, I get red super easily so it usually takes me a couple days! I make sure I don’t have any events, photoshoots, etc. for atleast 3-4 days after.

Day 3

As you can see my skin is starting to get much more clear, redness is going down, no active acne & red scarring spots have lightened up (this is with the help is using the LED light therapy post facial.

Day 4 after treatments

Huge difference am I right? Skin is clear of acne, I still have pigmentation spots, which we will be using micro-needling, PRP and LED light therapy to lighten up and minimize my acne scarring.

If you are suffering from Acne, Blackheads, etc. I do highly recommend these treatments. She will also educate you on how to do mini extractions at home, and little tips to prevent acne!

If you have any questions, should me an email or leave something in the comments below! I know how frustrating it can be dealing with acne, so I am always here to help in any possible way I can!

Skin Products I am using and Loving:

Vivier Medicated Acne Wash

Vivier Toner (night only)

Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream (I have extremely dry skin in Europe so I need something thick and more hydrating)

Vivier Radiant Eye Contour Cream - I have tried a lot of eye creams so help with dark circles and puffiness. I have been using this for almost a year now and cannot live without it. I use it morning and night and i rarely have to put concealer under my eyes! It is very lightweight and effective. Tip: Put your eye cream in the fridge so it helps wake your eyes up in the AM.

Zo Exfoliating Polish - the best face scrub you will ever own! I promise!

Zo Sulfur Masque - also great as an overnight spot treatment. Can help minimize deep cystic acne overnight.

*Those 2 Zo products I use about twice a week to exfoliate my skin and mask. I swear by these two products, my skin is clearer and brighter after 1 use. I am not sponsored by any of these products listed above, I just truly love them so much and they have helped me, so I hope they can do the same for you!*
