Summers always seem to be my busiest time of year. My work load builds and I'm also in the midst of balancing my boyfriend being home full time. Don't get me wrong, I love it when he's home from his hockey season, but it is definitely an adjustment!
It was our first summer of us living together full-time. We had lots of family to visit, especially with him being from Alberta and me being from Saskatchewan, there were many road trips and vacations planned. Between our amazing trips together and work being as busy as it was, I was in much need of a weekend girls getaway! Shut off for a weekend, and enjoy some delicious wine, adventures, good food (and junk food) spa days, and nice long girl talks.
Fairmont Hot Spring Resort reached out to me to take a mini 2 day vacation there over summer, so I knew this was the perfect opportunity to take one of my best friends and make a girls weekend road trip out of it.
Our weekend was full of natural hot spring pool days, delicious dinners, horse back riding, in room spa treatment and zip lining to finish it off. One of our favourite restaurants was 'Antlers at the lodge' they had DELICIOUS food and a lot of great local okanagan wine choices.
Aside from the excursions we took part in, Fairmont Hot Springs Resort offers a variety of options for families, couples or just as a weekend getaway. The resort has a large outdoor natural hot spring, kids clubs for those of you travelling as a family, as well as helicopter tours, many golf courses, and Invermere lake if close by if you want to go boating.
As much as I loved the adventures we did, nothing beat having a morning coffee on our patio from the local coffee shop in the resort and doing nothing but visit with my best friend.
It was the best girls trip I have done in a very long time, if not the best one yet!
